your explination about 2 step is wrong 1step is the limiter and 2nd step is retard of the timing what makes the turbo spool . and antilag is antilag ist when you go on decel timing retards throttle is opened for air and turbo spools please give right info . also if u are on the dyno please dont downshift til 1st right away and just press the clutch until you are at a low wheelspeed or your gearbox wil be gone soon .

Couldn't you set up 2-step by speed?... for instance, under 10mph turn on 2-step rev limit. Benefits: No need to know what gear the vehicle is in, or if the clutch is engaged, or any other data signal at all. Since 2-step is for launching from a complete stop, and first gear will reach 10mph (and turn off the 2-step) before hitting the lowered rev limit, this would allow the car to maintain grip at launch, and naturally disengage 2-step with no worries of accidental re-engagement... you don't want it to engage when you reach the top end of first and you press the clutch to shift to second gear. Though that scenario _should_ never happen if the person that programmed the equip knows what they're doing.

I am pretty sure that you will still need to cut ignition when shifting, its just that your ecu will handle it for you(with the aid of that tension sensor on the shift lever ) so you don't have to let of off the gas pedal.

I'm pretty sure ignition timing isn't exclusively "antilag." The term antilag if I recall correctly is used in race cars to keep the engine in boost while off throttle, hence the retardation. The ignition happens late to keep the turbo spooled without needing gas pedal. But, I think that two step can still have ignition retardation without any so called antilag. I could be completely wrong though.

Just call it Anti lag. We're smart enough to know the difference

Or you might be using the strain gauge to tell the engine ecu to drop engine torque so you can actually disengage the current gear & engage the next without the engine accelerating away....dog gearboxes always 'ratchet' to some degree, with everthing spinning an abutment condition doesn't happen for long.

I literally just realized his tuner is at phatbotti tuning! There huge for Subaru’s mostly what there known for. It’s who I’m tuned with as well that’s awesome

If I'm not mistaken, I thought anti-lag is used to keep a turbo spooling between shifts. Thought bunch of rally cars (maybe others) used it to keep the turbo spooled between shifts by injecting air and fuel before the hot side of the exhaust and it would keep turbo spooled. 2-step was for launch control.
