@rob dahm dude don't listen to these haters. The hoonicorn had a race shop basically build that car. This 4 rotor is something different. You have built a car that works, drives and when all the kinks are worked out, is as fast as the hoonicorn if not faster in my own opinion.

As much as I love Hoonigan, I feel they really stacked the cards against you Rob. That whole series was just to glorify the Hoonicorn and make it appear unbeatable. But you came out, untested, and absolutely killed it. You may have "lost" but you and the 4-rotor are definitely winners. Looking forward to whatever else is to come!

I loved the fact that you never really driven the RX7 and almost defieded Ken Block, that alone is worth a party. You are not done with the car and you still (almost) beat him. Theres big potential and really nice job done. Theres no way i wouldve done better, respect!!

More practice thats all you needed n you could of beat him, maybe... the Hoonicorn is the fastest car in the world. No one really knows the top speed of the Hoonicorn for sure. Coupled with a driver like Ken block, he puts the I in impossible to beat.

Hi Rob .. Put drag slicks on the RX7. Make the gear ratio longer in 1st 2nd 3rd . Adjust suspension softer . Put 100 hp shot of nos for 3rd and 4th run anti lag if you run anti surge turbos don't use blow off more air more boost in the system . And change the fuel system to METH this is my opinion too how to beat that unicorn👍 I could tell your not driving the rx7 to it's full potential.. abit of advise . Drive it like you stole it !😂

Rob how about using a spark interrupt along with your string gauge on your shifting so you won’t have to lift your foot on the Excelerator as you pull back on your shifter it is a Rupps the spark at the same time of the millisecond my friend uses it on his ZX14 he uses air shift with a spark interrupt when he does the mile long race is top speed so far 197 👍😊

Finally owning a used Cosmo/RX-4 13-B, rebuilt from 1989-1993 Never became involved in modifications of that vehicle, but am very aware and knowledgeable of automobile, vehicle maintenance, repair, modifications, performance, mechanic, mechanical, electrical/electronics engineering with some expertise. You obviously have many high level knowledge, talents, abilities, characteristics, which has led to Your developed experience, expertise, successes throughout the years. You obviously have many talents, abilities and characteristics both mental and physical which are mostly related to mechanical, assembly, development, modification, improvement, experimentation, function. As You are probably aware most of the early race car drivers began in modifications of their engines, mechanical assemblies, structures, etc, to achieve performance improvements and function. As vehicle racing developed, so did the development of teams to achieve better, greater performing machines for better results and raised the level of competition ongoing. Already during the 1960s race teams included their own engineers, not relying upon the engineers of the components alone, with the knowledge, experience, expertise of the mechanics. An engineer has several aspects which are important for the improvements and results. Engineers usually have better, more detailed, in-depth knowledge of the mechanics, function, functionality and the approach is to design the overall machine which includes all sections, parts, aspects and the detailed level of each too. We engineers call this the "top down" approach in design which has many improvements in results, success, efficacy and efficiency. During my early engineering design years in the 1980s, Computer Aided Design [CAD] developed continually allowing engineer designs to be accomplished nearly or completely via a computer with simulation and modeling, thus achieving working, developed products with minimal or without prototypes The limitations of CAD are the amount, level, detail, precision, exactness, accuracy of the modeling and simulation. You have been promoting and apparently using Valvoline racing synthetic motor oil and possibly other lubrication products of theirs or others. Certainly from Your experience Valvoline does produce excellent level and quality products. However, in reality, they entered the synthetic lubricant market with their products, rather late, though they certainly produce among the better ones. Still all of the major oil companies produce both synthetic and natural oil based products with the synthetic having superior aspects, performance, functionality and quality. Actually, the best synthetic lubrication products is produced by the originator Amsoil, who preceded Mobil in time, quality, performance, functionality, level and breadth, significantly, each and combined. If You will read the information about the originator, development, continuing improvements, breadth, performance from its founder, engineers including other independent engineers You will be as impressed, perhaps nearly as much as me, and more so with actual use. From my amount and level of knowledge, it is well worth the protection and performance of Your special mechanical equipment to investigate including actual use of their products. Am aware You have a sponsorship relationship with Valvoline and am not aware of the specifics of the financial arrangement, which may be very significant. However, the finances can be arranged for Your benefit with Amsoil, perhaps even more, as an independent distributor. You definitely need to adjust your gearing. Comparing specs, gear ratios, air fuel mixtures to piston engines is irrelevant. Being that its a rotary, you are going to have to judge alot of things by ear and trust your instincts. You can tell you're not staying in peak torque and when you are its not for long enough. Spend more time, at the track, learn the quirks of the car. Id switch to a higher final drive, so your RPMS stay higher, and or shorten the transmission gear ratios.

Once you learn more about the Unicorn, you will know what she likes and doesn't like. Just be patience and find Her strengths and weaknesses one step at a time. your video vs ken block was probably my favorite one out of the whole series, you shouldn't expect so much negativity! it had just enough drama with the hood blowing off to make for an entertaining video, but the best part was it all stayed together mechanically and you were able to give him a few good runs. keep it going man! i hope this just keeps inspiring you to push it and keep going forward

Experiment with gearing, talk to Ken or someone about the shifting, learn to drive that car with more horsepower, drive it alot more, STOP WORRYING ABOUT BREAKING SHIT!!!! it's gonna happen, test, and make it better, the more seat time, the more natural your gonna become. It could take years, only because your so worried about breaking shit!!! Find you a skid pad and a track day where you can just hammer on it. Stop being afraid man. It'll either break or it'll dominate.
